Privacy policy

This policy explains how CloudArray Consulting (sole proprietorship of Michael Khumalo, “we”, “us”) processes personal information when you use cloudarray.digital and when you submit an inquiry. It is written to align with the Protection of Personal Information Act 4 of 2013 (POPIA).

Information Officer

Michael Khumalo acts as the Information Officer for POPIA purposes. You may contact the Information Officer at info@cloudarray.digital for privacy questions or to exercise your rights.

What we collect

When you use the contact form we collect the fields you submit: name, email address, optional phone number, and your message. We also receive the page path from which you submitted the form. We do not run analytics, advertising pixels, or social widgets on this site.

Purposes and lawful bases

We process inquiry data to respond to your request, prepare proposals for programming consulting services, and maintain records of commercial correspondence. Processing is based on your consent when you submit the form, and on our legitimate interest in operating a professional services business where consent is not the only basis.

How inquiries are handled

Form submissions are sent via a POST request to /api/inquiry on cloudarray.digital and handled by our mail infrastructure on the same domain. Messages are not sold to third parties. Access is limited to personnel who need the information to respond.

Retention

Inquiry records are kept for as long as needed to complete the engagement discussion and for up to five years thereafter for legal and accounting purposes, unless a shorter period is agreed in writing.

Security

We apply reasonable technical and organisational measures appropriate to a small consultancy, including transport encryption for form submissions. No method of transmission is completely secure; please avoid sending passwords or highly sensitive credentials through the form.

Your rights

Under POPIA you may request access to personal information we hold about you, ask for correction of inaccurate data, object to processing in certain cases, and request deletion where retention is no longer lawful. To exercise these rights, email info@cloudarray.digital. You may lodge a complaint with the Information Regulator (South Africa) if you believe your rights have been infringed.

Direct marketing

We do not add you to bulk mailing lists solely because you contacted us. If we ever send direct marketing, we will comply with POPIA and the Consumer Protection Act, including honouring opt-out requests.

Children

Our services are directed at businesses and professionals. We do not knowingly collect information from children.

Changes

We may update this policy when our practices or legal requirements change. The current version is published on this page.
